That doesn’t sound good. Injuries are never good for anyone involved as you never know how bad something can be. It doesn’t help that there might be some time between the injury taking place and someone’s status being announced. If that is the case, you could be in for a surprise announcement in a hurry. That seems to be the case again with a SmackDown wrestler.

The big story coming out of last week’s SmackDown saw Jeff Hardy accused of drunk driving and a hit and run attack. The story seemed designed to advance Hardy’s feud with Sheamus, but there was a big factor left out of the whole thing: Elias, as in the person who was the victim of the attack. Elias was taken away in an ambulance, and now we have an update on him.

During this week’s SmackDown, Michael Cole announce that Elias had suffered broken ribs and a torn pectoral muscle, though there was no timetable given for him getting back in the ring. There is no word on Elias being legitimately hurt, though this may be a way to write Elias off of television for the time being. Elias’ most recent match took place on the May 15 SmackDown when he defeated King Corbin.

Elias can do some good things in the ring. Check out what he has in him:

Opinion: I’m not sure what to make of this but a torn pectoral muscle is the kind of thing that can keep you on the shelf for a long time to come. Then again, Elias is the kind of character who can be on the shows without wrestling so maybe we’ll be seeing him again sooner rather than later. It could just be an angle, though it sounds a bit specific and intense injury report.

What is next for Elias? What does he need to change when he is back? Let us know in the comments below.
