She’s in. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster, to the point where the promotion has quite the deep bench. As a result, the company has the ability to swap in some people when necessary if an issue arises under certain circumstances. That was the case again this week and WWE has already swapped in substitute, who has done quite well for herself in the opportunity.

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Kairi Sane was attacked, seemingly by the Pure Fusion Collective. As a result, Sane was pulled from the Women’s Intercontinental Title tournament, meaning a replacement was needed. The Collective attempted to take her spot, but General Manager Adam Pearce said that he had given Iyo Sky, Sane’s partner in Damage CTRL, the spot instead. Sky went on to win her first round match.

Opinion: This is something interesting, as the question becomes where Sky goes from here. While there is a chance that she had nothing to do with the attack on Sane, she is certainly benefiting from what happened. That could open up some doors and it would not surprise me to see it go in an interesting direction. For now though, Sky is on the way to the semifinals and that is already a big step for her.
