In And Out Again? Update On Maxwell Jacob Friedman's AEW Status Amid Start Of Acting Career

It’s something else. There have been instances of wrestlers trying to get into acting for years and occasionally it has been quite the success. Every so often you will see a wrestler jump into acting and do quite well in the new field, though those are few and far between. In this case, one of the biggest stars in all of AEW is trying his hand at it and now we know more about how he is doing.

Earlier this year, it was reported that AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman had landed a role in the upcoming film “Happy Gilmore 2”. According to Fightful Select, the role is described as “major” and filming on the movie has since wrapped. As a result, Friedman is expected to return to AEW TV soon, though it is not clear when that will take place. In addition, Friedman has landed another role in a film starring Justin Long and Ron Perlman, though there are no further details.

Opinion: It would be nice to have Friedman back in AEW for an extended run, as he has had some long breaks from the promotion and it’s starting to be an issue. That matters the most now though is that he seems primed to come back and has only been gone for a little while this time. Friedman is one of the biggest stars in all of AEW but it would be nice to have him around a bit more frequently.
