The stakes have been raised. We are less than ten days away from AEW Full Gear and after this week, the card seems to be at least mostly set in stone. That could make for some interesting moments and some rather high profile matches, some of which are going to be even bigger than others. One of the more important matches on the card has gone from high stakes to very high stakes.

Over the last few months, one of the most long awaited matches in all of wrestling has been a showdown between FTR and the Young Bucks. The two are some of the best tag teams in the world, with FTR reigning as the AEW Tag Team Champions. The Young Bucks have yet to hold the titles but are up for their next shot. Now though, things might not be as simple as they seemed.

This week on AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks and FTR had a sitdown interview. After FTR walked out over their lack of having anything to prove, the Young Bucks announced that if they did not win the titles, they would never challenge for them again. This is the second time such a stipulation has been made at Full Gear, after Cody had the same stipulation for the World Title at Full Gear 2019.

They don’t sound happy. Check out the interview and how we got here:

Opinion: I’m not sure if this is the best idea, but after last year, there is still some drama to the idea. The Young Bucks are not the kind of team who need to win the titles to be stars, though at some point you almost have to have them be champions just to validate the belts a bit more. I’m not sure how things are going to go and that is a nice feeling given this kind of stipulation.
