It keeps growing. As difficult as it might be to believe, AEW Dynamite has only been on the air for about eleven months. The show has already become one of the more popular weekly wrestling television shows with only Monday Night Raw and SmackDown being able to beat it every week. That is quite the status but there are still things that can be changed. One change will not be coming soon though.

In addition to Dynamite, AEW runs a second weekly show with Dark airing online Tuesday nights. Dark is a little less important than Dynamite and mainly focuses on the in-ring action and less than angles and storylines. The two shows combine to give AEW a balance of different options, but now they might be adding something to change things up in a pretty big way.

AEW President Tony Khan was interviewed during the post show conference call for All Out. During the call, Khan said that there were still plans to launch a second AEW television show at some point in the near future. Later that night, Khan responded to a fan on Twitter, saying that the show will not be a third hour of Dynamite and will not air on Wednesday nights. Khan also said that TNT had asked about extending Dynamite but he turned them down, though he was appreciative of the offer.

Both shows have done fairly well so far. Check out how they have done in the first year:

Opinion: I’m not completely sold on this as it seems AEW might be trying to do too much at once. They have only been around less than a year and are already talking about a fourth hour (or more depending on how long Dark run that week) of television/content. They only have one active roster and could run things a little too hard if they aren’t careful. Then again they have made a lot of things work so far so maybe they can do it with this as well.
