Football strikes again. As has been the case for so many wrestling companies over the years, mainstream sports are a huge problem. There’s pretty much nothing wrestling can do to overcome the power of other sports, especially the NFL. This week “Impact Wrestling” had to deal with both “Thursday Night Football” and the MLB Playoffs. So how did the show do?

According to 411mania.com, this week’s show drew a .05 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 251,000 viewers. The rating is down 16% from last week’s .06 and the viewership is down 5% from last week’s 264,000. This week’s show was headlined by James Storm/Ethan Carter III vs. El Hijo de Fantasma/Texano in a company vs. company match.

Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised as I haven’t been all that interested in the show as of late. The AAA invasion angle has done almost nothing for me and the American Top Team MMA stuff is even less interesting. Those are two of the top stories on the show and neither of them are particularly interesting. Fans don’t watch the show to see people from other companies and GFW doesn’t seem to grasp that.

What did you think of this week’s show? Do you like both invasion angles? Let us know in the comments below.
