They think something of him. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, the company has managed to split the wrestlers into three different lineups. This includes the NXT roster, which serves as a stand alone entity as well as WWE’s developmental territory. A star getting a push in NXT could mean a lot for their future, and that very well may be the case right now.

Earlier this month, the team of NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and his friend Trick Williams amicably split, with Williams wanting to find singles success. This past Saturday at an NXT live event in Tampa, Florida, Williams defeated former NXT Champion Bron Breakker with a rollup in an impromptu match. Williams is scheduled to face Ilja Dragunov as this week’s NXT Heatwave special.

Opinion: That is quite the upset and it could be one heck of a sign for Williams going forward. At the end of the day, it’s just a live event and might not lead anywhere substantial, but getting this kind of a win is certainly more than might have been expected from Williams. At some point NXT needs some fresh stars and if Williams is ready to be one of them, good for him.
