The card is building in a hurry. Summerslam is less than a day old and yet we are already less than a week away from WWE’s next pay per view with Payback. WWE is rushing through its pay per view calendar like never before and that means they do not have a lot of time to set things up for the next show. They are setting things up in a hurry and that includes announcing a SmackDown match on Monday Night Raw.

The big story coming out of Summerslam was the return of Roman Reigns, who attacked the new Universal Champion the Fiend and former champion Braun Strowman to end the show. This was Reigns’ first appearance in over five months and came after he went to the sidelines while still #1 contender to the Universal Title. This leads us to Payback and I think you know what is coming.

This week on Monday Night Raw, a triple threat, no holds barred match for the Universal Title was announced for Payback, with the Fiend defending against both Reigns and Strowman. There will be a contract signing to make the match official on this week’s SmackDown. The match will be Reigns’ first time in a televised match since Super ShowDown on February 27.

Anyone could leave with the title. Check out all three of them in action:

Opinion: This is something you knew was coming in one form or another and it makes sense to just get it out of the way while they can. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Reigns leave as champion, but you can almost guarantee that his feud with Fiend is going to go on for a good while. WWE has wanted to do this one for a long time now and they finally have their chance. I’m not sure how it’s going to go, but it’s what we’re going to get.
