Welcome back. There are all kinds of tropes that take place throughout wrestling and you can see them come up over and over again for one reason or another. Those things might include people being used in certain roles which could suit them rather well. That is what we are seeing again in AEW, as a top star returned to fill in a role that he has done before for the promotion.

Over the weekend at AEW Worlds End, Kazuchika Okada won the Continental Classic to retain the Continental Title. Following the match, Christopher Daniels appeared and said that he was no longer an executive vice president with the company, only to introduce Keny Omega to fill the role. Omega presented Okada with his title and the two had a staredown. Omega has been out of action since last December due to diverticulitis but he is set to face Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.
You might remember him. Check out Omega in AEW:
Opinion: This is good to see as Omega is likely going to be getting back in an AEW ring to compete sooner rather than later. Having him back as an authority figure for the moment could be interesting and AEW was certainly teasing the idea of Omega vs. Okada, which has more than enough of a history to make work. I’m interested in where this is going and that is a great thing to see.
What do you think of Omega’s return? Who should he face first in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
