She’s trying. There are all kinds of things that can keep a wrestler out of the ring and some of them are far from negative. Occasionally a wrestler will have to take time away from the ring due to something positive in their personal lives, but that does not mean their career is over. Now a prominent wrestler who took time away from the ring for something more important, is looking to return to action.

AEW’s Tay Melo has announced that she is back in the ring and training for a return. This comes as she has been out of the ring since March 2023 due to maternity leave. There is no word on when she will be back in the ring, but according to Fightful Select, AEW currently has no creative plans for her. Melo’s husband Sammy Guevara is currently under suspension.

Opinion: I would certainly consider that to be a worthy reason to miss time from the ring and now Melo gets to return on her own terms. It would be nice to have her back, as she has been getting better in the ring with more and more experience. I could see her becoming a rather strong fan favorite, with or without Guevara by her side. That is a valuable thing to have and now AEW might have her back sooner than later.
