It did well. NXT is a unique idea in wrestling as it serves as both the third brand of WWE as well as its official developmental system. That means the show is going to feature a smaller scale more often than not, but there are times when things will go bigger. That was the case over the weekend as NXT went on the road, and now we know how things were viewed from inside.

Over the weekend, NXT presented Battleground from Lowell, Massachusetts, their third show on the road this year. According to PWInsider.com, NXT officials were very pleased with the show, referring to it as their best “milestone” show in awhile. One also said that it was “worlds ahead” of Stand & Deliver, which was held in Los Angeles, California over WrestleMania weekend.

Opinion: This is the kind of praise that the show deserves after it wound up being quite good with just about everything that happened. Battleground wound up being a surprise hit and possibly the best show of the weekend. It is nice to see the backstage authority seeing the same success in the show, which did go rather well after a strong enough build towards the event.
