That’s a choice. WWE is coming off of Summerslam, meaning we are a few months removed from this year’s WrestleMania. That gives WWE some time to look back on what they did at the biggest event of the year and see where things have gone since then. What might not have made the most sense back then could look better now, and that is how WWE sees things.

The main event of this year’s WrestleMania XXXIX saw Roman Reigns defeat Cody Rhodes to retain the WWE Universal Title. The match was set up when Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble to earn the shot. Reigns has gone on to retain the title since. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE sees the company’s continued growth since WrestleMania as proof that they made the right decision to not have Rhodes win the title. There is no word on when Reigns is expected to lose the title.

Opinion: This is one way of looking at things and it does make some sense, but at the same time, there does come a point when a change is going to need to be made. Reigns has almost reached three years as champion and that is reaching a point where WWE is going to have to change something. I’m not sure if it needed to be Rhodes, but it is going to have to be someone at some point before people are over Reigns.
