He's Out: Wrestling Legend Shoots Down WWE Return, "Not In This Lifetime"

He’s done. There have been all kinds of wrestlers over the years and some of them have gone on to have quite the careers. Some of them even manages to stay in wrestling when their time in the ring is over, though they often leave behind some scars after their careers are done. Now a former WWE star is saying that he is done for good and won’t be returning to the company.

Former WWE star Mike Rotunda, better known as IRS, took part in a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest and asked about returning to WWE, where he wrestled and worked as a producer. Rotunda, 65 years old, said he would not return in WWE “in this lifetime”, saying he was burned out after a thirty six year career in wrestling. He went on to say that he has already had his left hip replaced and needs his other hip and a knee replaced. Rotunda in 2020, though he has made cameo appearances since.

Opinion: I can’t say I disagree with Rotunda, who has already put in all kinds of years in wrestling and does not want to have to deal with everything again. At 65 years old, Rotunda is apparently in need of some medical work and hopefully it does him a lot of good. He had a rather nice career in his own right and deserves to feel as good as he can now that his career is over.
