That was cool. WWE has some advantages built into their system that other promotions cannot match. One of the biggest is the NXT developmental system, which allows up and coming wrestlers to get a chance on national television in their own setting. Occasionally main roster wrestlers will pop up there as a surprise and that was the situation again this week in a cool moment.

This week’s NXT was scheduled to see the LWO vs. the No Quarter Catch Crew in a six man tag. However, the LWO’s Dragon Lee was forced to pull out of the match due to visa issues. Carlito appeared as his surprise replacement though and the team went on to defeat the Crew. There is no word on if Carlito will be regularly appearing in NXT going forward. Lee’s visa issues are said to have already been resolved and he could return to television as soon as this week’s SmackDown.

They’re a good team. Check out the team in action, plus Carlito and Lee:

Opinion: That is one of the advantages WWE has in action, as they can dip into their rather deep talent pool and pull out a nice surprise like Carlito for just such a situation. Lee’s issues needed to be dealt with but instead of canceling the match, WWE gave the fans something special instead, which was probably more memorable than the match would have been. The return was fun and went well, so that’s all you could ask for.
