And that’s that. Retirement is a tricky subject in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to hang up their gear for good. While you will often hear about someone being done with wrestling, the question becomes whether or not they actually mean it for good. Now another legend is making it clear that his career is over and is doing something to prove it.

Last month, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T. made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble, entering the show’s namesake match and being eliminated in about 45 seconds. He has since announced that he will not be wrestling again, saying that would be his last appearance in the ring. During a recent edition of his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker reiterated that he was done and announced that he was selling his reing gear on eBay. Booker, 57 years old, said that the walk to the ring at the Royal Rumble “blew” him and he knew he was done.

Opinion: While there is always the chance that Booker could just buy new gear, at least he seems to be serious about retiring. There is something special about going out in such a big moment, though it wouldn’t stun me to see him wrestle another match or two for his promotion in Texas. For now though, he certainly seems to be serious and if that is the case, it makes the end of an incredible career.
