That would have been different. One of the most discussed wrestling stories of the year has been Vince McMahon, who not only returned to WWE but also sold the company and retained an executive position. This has resulted in a question of how much influence he might have with WWE creative going forward, and now we have an idea of what he did this week.

According to Fightful Select, McMahon sent in several changes to this week’s Monday Night Raw. These changes included but were not limited to multiple changes involving the women’s division. First, a planned Piper Niven vs. Candice LeRae match was scrapped entirely, along with a backstage segment between the two which was scheduled to include Trish Stratus. McMahon also cut match times, winners and losers, and the lead in elements to conclude the show. The card was reportedly posted very late internally.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that fans have been dreading, though the show did not feel like your traditional McMahon show. If this is as much as he does, it will cause some chaos for the wrestlers but it might not be the worst thing for the fans. At the same time, the idea of McMahon changing all kinds of things on the show is certainly a possibility and it will likely happen again sooner than later.
