He’ll be around. There are certain names in wrestling who reach some of the highest levels in the industry. Often these names will be able to stick around long after their in-ring careers are over and it can make for some great moments when they come back for a special appearance. That might be the case again, as a legend has signed a new long term contract.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Sooner Or Later: Sting Reveals Original Retirement Plans, How Ric Flair Extended His Career

AEW has announced that Ric Flair has been signed to a multi-year contract. In addition, his contract will include making his Wooooo! Energy drink the official energy drink of AEW. This comes after Flair made his surprise AEW last week on Dynamite as a special gift to Sting. There is no word on how Flair will be used in AEW going forward, though there is nothing to suggest that he will be wrestling.

Opinion: This is one of those signings that is going to get a lot of attention, though Flair’s reputation might not make that the best kind of attention. Flair is someone with an amazing legacy, but at the same time he also has a good bit o baggage that comes with him. I’m not sure how AEW is going to use him but they are going to need to come up with something interesting, as otherwise it might not be the best signing.
