It’s a new thing. We are in a new era for Monday Night Raw and that means things are rapidly changing. The show has moved over to Netflix after a decades long run on cable and that means the show is rather different than what it has been for a long time. This includes the run time, which is going to be different from week to week. Now we have an idea of what happened.

This week’s Monday Night Raw ran just over two and a half hours, shorter than the Netflix premiere, which ran over three hours. According to both PWInsider.com and Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, the show ran shorter by design so the company could run dark matches and allow people to get to the airport. This was the plan in advance and while the show was trimmed due to Penta’s match and segment going long, there was no heat on Penta for the issues.

Opinion: This is where things get interesting as the show is going through so many changes. The interesting aspect though is the company is able to do whatever they want for the most part and that includes ending the show earlier. It is still the complete edition of the show and there is little need to stretch it out to some specific run time. This week worked out well and I’m curious to see how it goes from week to week.
