That’s a specific reason. There have been a lot of WWE roster moves in recent months and that was certainly the case this week as well. One of the more surprising moves was Ric Flair requesting and being granted his release from the company. It was not something that made a lot of sense but now we have some more details which might explain where things went wrong.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Flair sent Vince McMahon a text message complaining about how his daughter, Charlotte, was being booked on WWE TV. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Flair, in essence, threatened to quit if the issues were not resolved. As a result, McMahon made the decision to release Flair. There is no word on what specific issue Flair wanted resolved. Flair has since spoken about departing the company, saying that WWE is the reason he is in the good state he is in now and that he has nothing but respect for them. There is no word on if Flair has a no compete clause in his contract.

Flair and Charlotte have a history together in WWE. Check out their time in WWE:
Opinion: For some reason, this does not surprise me whatsoever, as I can easily see Flair being concerned enough about the way Charlotte is being booked to leave WWE. Flair has done a lot of questionable things in his career but it is very clear that he cares about what happens to his daughter. I’m not sure where Flair goes next, though a trip to AEW would not be surprising.
