Get the polish ready. Titles are one of the most important things in all of wrestling because they symbolize someone being the best. That is the kind of thing that anyone can understand because they are a big shiny championship. A wrestler has one and then another wrestler wants it. You can go from there without much trouble and that is what is taking place in a new way.

NXT has figured out a rather good balance when it comes to championships and that is a rather great thing. Above all else, the titles are going to wind up being treated like the most important thing in the world every time they are on screen. With such special treatment every time, it can be quite the effort to make the title situation change. That is what we will be seeing soon.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT will be receiving their own Women’s Tag Team Titles in the near future, though no specific date is given. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles are still defended in NXT, though Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez’s shot at the titles ended in a controversial fashion. Following the loss, NXT General Manager William Regal promised a major announcement that will change NXT forever.

The women’s division has its share of tag teams. Check out what they have been doing lately:

Catanzaro & Carter vs. Storm & Martinez – Women’s Dusty Classic: WWE NXT, Jan. 20, 2021

Dolin & Jade vs. LeRae & Hartwell – Women’s Dusty Classic: WWE 205 Live, Jan. 22, 2021

Catanzaro & Carter vs. Kai & González – Women’s Dusty Cup Semifinals: WWE NXT, Feb. 3, 2021

Opinion: I’m not wild on the idea as NXT has a pretty nice balance of titles at the moment and it’s not like the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles couldn’t be perfect in this spot. The main roster has not done anything with the titles so the solution is to add even more of them? I’m sure NXT can make them work, but hopefully the main roster titles are phased out. They won’t be, but it would be nice to just swap the things instead.
