Healing Time: Former World Champion Undergoes Surgery, To Miss Several More Months

The big step. There are all kinds of injuries and health issues which can put a wrestler on the sidelines for a long time. These are things that might take place during their time in the ring but sometimes they are situations that take place completely outside of wrestling. Unfortunately a top star had to deal with such a situation and now he has undergone surgery to help the healing process.

AEW’s Kenny Omega has been out of action since December 2023 due to a case of diverticulitis. According to Fightful Select, Omega underwent surgery on May 16 in New York to help fix the condition, though there is no word on when he will be able to return to the ring. AEW is said to currently have no creative plans for Omega, though he was attacked by the Elite during his appearance on AEW Dynamite on May 1.

Opinion: That is rough to hear but what matters is the fact that Omega is starting on the path to getting back to full health. Diverticulitis is a very nasty situation and it will be great to see him healing up. Him getting back in the ring is something that will be fun, but just being able to live a regular life is what matters a lot more. It was nice seeing him around earlier this month and it will be better to see him back full time.
