Almost there. We are less than three weeks away from Summerslam and that means WWE is going to be working hard to get the show together. This includes setting up the major matches, some of which are all but confirmed already. That means we could be in for a big card when everything comes together, but there is one major hurdle that needs to be cleared for one of the bigger matches.

Over the last few weeks, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have teased a match but have yet to make one official. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, it is “probable” that Punk will be medically cleared to return to the ring at Summerslam, but it is not yet confirmed. Punk wasn’t present at this week’s Monday Night Raw, with the explanation that he was away trying to get medially cleared. Punk has been out of action since January after tearing his tricep at the Royal Rumble. Summerslam is set for August 3 in Cleveland.

Opinion: This is where things seem to be going and there is still enough time to make it work. Punk vs. McIntyre has been one of the hottest feuds in WWE for months, which is all the more impressive when you consider they haven’t had a match yet. The match has the potential to be a classic, but they are going to have to make it work in the ring, whenever that happens.
