Pay them man. AEW has done quite a few things in their short history but one of the most important has been the amount of money they have allowed wrestlers to earn. The company has helped boost the profile of a lot of different wrestlers and now one of the most prominent around has earned something rather special after some of the best work of his career.

Over the weekend at the AEW All In Zero Hour show, it was announced that former World Champion Swerve Strickland had signed a new contract with the company. According to Fightful Select, the contract is believed to be one of the biggest in AEW history. Strickland began negotiations on a new deal while he was World Champion as it was believed he had “outperformed” his previous contract. He is believed to be a top star in the company going forward, with his new deal lasting until 2028 at the earliest.

Strickland has done rather well in AEW. Check out what he has done in the company:

Opinion: It would be an understatement to say that Strickland has earned this kind of a deal and good for him for getting as far as he has, both in AEW and in wrestling as a whole. To be trusted with one of the biggest prizes in wrestling and then being rewarded for it makes him all the more impressive and it would not surprise me to see him get the title back in the future.

What do you think of Strickland’s time in AEW? What is next for him after losing the title? Let us know in the comments below.
