Add it to the card. We are coming up on the first WWE stadium show in the United Kingdom in over thirty years with September 4th’s Clash At The Castle. WWE is going to be working overtime to make the card as big as possible and that means adding in some special matches. They did that again this week with a new title match, and the challenger had to work to get there.

This week on SmackDown, Sheamus won a fatal five way match to earn a shot against Gunther for the Intercontinental Title at Clash At The Castle. Sheamus defeated Ricochet, Happy Corbin, Sami Zayn and Madcap Moss to earn the show, pinning Corbin after a Brogue Kick. The match will be the first between Gunther and Sheamus, who has never held the title.

Opinion: This is the kind of match that helps build the show up in a good way. Sheamus vs. Gunther should be a great hoss fight between two guys who can hit very hard. It wouldn’t shock me to see Sheamus win the title for the UK crowd, but at the same time it is hard to imagine Gunther losing so soon. Either way, this should be a good match and they have the intrigue to make it even better.
