Not so fast. WWE has a lot of content to put together, mainly due to how many shows that they run in any given week. There are so many shows in front of so many audiences that they have to put a lot of things together. This ranges everywhere from small house shows to top level pay per views and every one is advertised. Sometimes you might not be able to believe them though, and that might be the case here.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, local commercials are advertising Undertaker vs. Drew McIntyre for next month’s Summerslam. These are said to be fill in advertisements only and are not guaranteed to be considered final for the show. Undertaker is scheduled to work the show, though his opponent is not yet known. Summerslam takes place on August 11 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
They’ve met before. Check out the old school version of the same match:
Opinion: I know that these commercials are often used as filler until the matches are set, but Summerslam is less than a month away. How much more can the company manage to set up in less than a month? Undertaker and McIntyre are already in a tag match at Extreme Rules so it makes sense to have something like this taking place at Summerslam. If nothing else, maybe McIntyre could win something big for a change.
