Two more. Title changes can be among the most important things in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone’s career change in a single match. It can be a huge deal for any wrestler, especially if they win the first championship in their career. That was half the case this weekend, as two titles changed hands, with one wrestler regaining a championship.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One (Or Three) More: AEW Announces Introduction Of New Title, Part Of A Set
Two titles changed hands at AEW Full Gear 2023. First up, Toni Storm defeated Hikaru Shida to win the AEW Women’s Title. This marks Storm’s third reign as champion, tying Shida’s record for the most reigns in the title’s history. Later, Julia Hart defeated Skye Blue and reigning champion Kris Statlander to become the new TBS Champion. This is Hart’s first title in AEW. All other champions retained their titles.
It was a big might. Check out some of the champions, past and present:
Opinion: That’s a big night as the women’s division is turned upside down in one show. Storm has been on fire as of late with the Timeless character and that is enough to get her back on top of the title scene. On the other hand you have Hart, who has gone from a cheerleader to rather scary in however you would describe what she is doing. That makes for quite the night and both of them should be doing well going forward.
