It’s already over? There have been very few issues that have been such a roller coaster as the former Sasha Banks’ status over the last year. After walking out on WWE last May and vacating the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles she held with Naomi, the former Banks has since moved on to Stardom, where she is now known as Mercedes Mone. Somehow that is not it for the changes though, as another major change took place this weekend.

Over the weekend, Mone lost the IWGP Women’s Title to Mayu Iwatani in the co-main event of Stardom’s All Star Grand Queendom. The loss ends Mone’s reign at 64 days, which was only the second in the title’s history. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Mone signed a new deal with the company earlier in the day, as her previous deal expired following the show. There is no word on how long the new contract runs.
Mone has made an impact outside of WWE. Check out her time elsewhere:
Opinion: This is something that is going to happen to just about any champion ever, but it is a bit surprising to see Mone drop the title just two months after winning it in the first place. I’m curious to see how long she stays in Japan in any promotion, but for now she does at least seem happy. If that means she does not return to a major American promotion then good for her, but it is certainly worth watching.
