One more time. There are a lot of cliches about wrestling and one of the more interesting is that almost no one actually retires. Some wrestlers have far more issues leaving the industry than others as they might not have many other career options. Occasionally they are going to be able to find something else to do, but there is always the chance that they will be brought back into the ring. That is happening again.

AEW has done a great job of putting together a roster. They have a mixture of established stars, up and comers and veterans, all of whom have come together to make quite the lineup. This is a great idea and the group has managed to turn into quite the national promotion. Every now and then you get quite the special moment, and that is the kind of thing we will be seeing soon.

During this week’s edition of Dynamite, AEW announced that Tully Blanchard will be returning to the ring on the March 3 episode. Blanchard will be teaming with FTR in a six man tag against Jurassic Express. This is be the first match for Blanchard, 67, since 2007 when he was defeated by Dustin Rhodes. Blanchard was absent from this week’s show for reasons that are not clear.

Opinion: I’m not sure what to expect from this, but having Blanchard in the ring is a perfectly fine way to go, especially if it is him coming into the ring, doing one or two things, and then letting the others do the rest of the work. This is the kind of thing that can appeal to a different generation and offer them a little something different. Hopefully it works out, and I can’t say I’m not excited about the whole thing.
