He’s a different generation. Over the last few years, WWE has released all kinds of wrestlers, ranging from low level developmental stars up to former World Champions. That is the kind of shakeup that you do not see in any promotion very often and it is not exactly great for WWE. Some of those wrestlers have come back though and now another is getting at least a short term gig.

According to Fightful Select, former NXT Tag Team Champion Wesley Blake is currently working at the WWE Performance Center as a guest trainer. Blake was released from WWE in April 2021 along with several other wrestlers. He has since wrestled on the independent scene and has appeared on AEW Dark tapings. In addition, Santana Garrett’s recent coaching job was only as a guest as well.

Opinion: Given how many releases there were from WWE over so many months, there is not room for everyone back in the company, but there is room for some. Even if this is just a short term gig, it is nice to see that Blake is still on friendly terms with the company. I could go for him being signed up again, just for the sake of letting him have an actual change without the Forgotten Sons.

What do you think of Blake? Will WWE hire him back full time? Let us know in the comments below.
