Welcome back times two. This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was a stacked show as the season kicked off in a big way. There were several angles running throughout the show, many of which offered some major storyline possibilities. This included the main event for the Universal Title, though there was something else going on during the match other than a fight for the title.

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Universal Champion Seth Rollins defending against Rusev. During the match, Bobby Lashley returned, along with Rusev’s wife Lana. The two kissed passionately on stage, leaving Rusev confused in the ring. This is Lashley’s first appearance since Extreme Rules when he lost a Last Man Standing match to Braun Strowman. Lana has been missing for several months as well, with her last match taking place at WrestleMania 35. The title match ended in a no contest when Bray Wyatt interfered.

This didn’t end well for Rusev. Check out the big surprise:

Opinion: That was quite the angle and I’m not sure how much sense it makes. The idea of Rusev and Lana being apart is one thing but it’s another to see Lana leave him for someone else. It doesn’t help when Mike and Maria Kanellis are doing something in the same vein, as it isn’t the most original story in the world even on the same show. They really should have something different, though Lashley vs. Rusev could be good.
