It’s quite the honor. March is Women’s History Month and that means WWE is going to be taking a bit of a closer look back at some of the women in the company’s history. While women’s wrestling has not always had the greatest reputation in WWE history, there have been several bright spots over the years and now WWE is giving them a special retrospective and naming the best ever.

The Women’s Revolution has changed the way women’s wrestling works in WWE, but it is not the first generation to be treated as something serious. The current generation had to be inspired by someone and as luck would have it, some of the previous generation still pops up today. There have been so many of them that WWE has found a way to give us some rankings.

WWE has released a series of specials on the WWE Network counting down the top fifty greatest women in company history. The final episode has been released with Trish Stratus claiming the top spot. Stratus appeared for the the company full time from 2000-2006 and won seven Women’s Titles before retiring. She has since made a few one off appearances, including in the first women’s Royal Rumble.

Here is the top five:

5. Asuka
4. Chyna
3. Becky Lynch
2. Charlotte
1. Trish Stratus

Stratus was quite the star. Check out some of her best times in WWE:

Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a surprise this was as Stratus is not only one of the most successful women in WWE history but also the inspiration for a lot of today’s wrestlers. She was one of the biggest success stories the division had ever seen and it is easy to see why WWE has treated her like the legend that she is. This was something you probably could have guessed and there is a reason for that.
