And new! There are all kinds of titles under the WWE banner and it can be a huge deal when one of them changes hands. Depending on how the title change is set up, things can be rather exciting if done right. That is what took place this week, as we saw a surprise title change take place during a match that was never even supposed to happen in the first place.

This week’s SmackDown as scheduled to see the Motor City Machine Guns defending the WWE Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits but the challengers were attacked by someone unseen. Johnny Gargano volunteered DIY to take the Profits’ place, with DIY going on to win the titles after Gargano hit Chris Sabin low. This marks DIY’s second reign with the titles, which they had previously won earlier this year.

Opinion: This was quite the surprise and a nice change of pace, as Gargano embraces the evil and is rewarded for doing so. Having Gargano and Ciampa on different sides was only going to last so long and this opens up a bunch of new doors. I like the move and both the Guns and the Profits are going to be coming after the titles. That’s a good way to go and we should be in for something interesting going forward.
