That’s heat. Wrestling is a tricky art form, as wrestlers are tasked with making the fans believe what they are seeing is real without taking things too far. That can result in some messy situations from time to time, as there is always the chance that a fan will get too into what they are seeing. It seems that was the situation this weekend and things got violent as a result.

On Saturday night, AAA TripleMania XXXI: Tijuana was held, with a main event of AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo, with Don Callis, defending against Kenny Omega. According to F4WOnline.com, following the show, Omega took part in a post show press conference where he argued with Callis and was attacked by Konosuke Takeshita. During their fight, a fan attacked Callis, choking him, concussing his eardrum and ripping his suit. Callis’ neck and ankle were also said to be injured and he returned to San Diego, California for treatment. This is NOT part of a storyline and appears to be completely legitimate.
Callis is quite the heat machine. Check out some of his work in AEW:
Opinion: That is quite the moment and hopefully Callis is ok. It says a lot in this day and age that someone can get so much heat on themselves that they will be attacked but it is one of the dangers of wrestling. Callis knows how to get a lot of people very annoyed at him and this is all the proof that you need of how good he is at what he does. He didn’t deserve to be attacked, but being able to drive fans that nuts is impressive.
What do you think of Callis? Where is his feud with Omega going? Let us know in the comments below.
