Farewell for good? The biggest wrestling story of the year has been Vince McMahon selling WWE to Endeavor, marking the end of his family’s control of the company. This means a new era in wrestling, though McMahon retains a rather high level of control and influence in WWE. However, that might not be a permanent situation, as McMahon may be setting for one heck of an exit.

According to Axios, McMahon currently holds almost 29 million shares of the new TKO Group, the company formed by a merger of WWE and UFC, for a total of about $3 billion. The TKO Group filed a registration plan for its stock with the SEC in August, noting that McMahon will be a “selling stockholder” during its upcoming stock offering. This would suggest that McMahon could be on his way out of the entire group, including WWE.
This comes after a story suggesting the investigation into McMahon’s scandal involving sexual misconduct and hush money payments may result in him not being allowed to serve in his role for the TKO Group. There is no word on when, or if, such a change would be taking place.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that I will have to see before I’ll believe it. While McMahon has changed a lot and has actually sold his company, meaning it is hard to say where everything could actually go. The idea of WWE not having McMahon in full control is strange enough, but the idea of him leaving the entire company is even more bizarre, though it might be happening.
