What a relief. Wrestling is the kind of violent sport which cannot be completely safe no matter how talented and experienced the wrestlers are. There are always going to be some risks which could make things all the more dangerous and when you go into a match called WarGames, the danger goes up again. That danger was real last week but an injury might not be as bad as it seemed.
The big main event of NXT Takeover: WarGames was a WarGames match between the Undisputed Era and Pat McAfee’s team. The match ran over forty five minutes with all eight men taking one heck of a beating. That was the case with one name in particular, as Bobby Fish tore his tricep. Fish has already had surgery to repair the injury, but now he has gotten some good news.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Fish’s injury will likely only put him out of action for about eight weeks, meaning he will be back in early February. The injury was not your traditional torn tricep, as a piece of the cage stabbed Fish through the arm and punctured the muscle. Footage of Fish following the surgery was shown on this week’s NXT, including the scar.
It was a violent match. Check out what happened in WarGames:
Opinion: That’s quite the relief as anyone tearing their tricep is a bad thing but Fish is already in his early 40s and probably does not have much time left in his career. About two months sounds a lot better than six or eight months so hopefully he can get back in the ring sooner rather than later. Fish helps the Undisputed Era and the team isn’t the same without him, so this is quite the relief all around.
What do you think of Fish? Will he ever win an NXT singles title? Let us know in the comments below.
