And new? There are all kinds of titles in WWE and it can be interesting to see what happens when one of them changes hands. Sometimes the title change has been built up for a long time while others feel like complete surprises. The latter can often be the more interesting, as the reactions can be incredibly strong. That was the case this week as a surprise title change took place.

This week on NXT, Dominik Mysterio defeated Wes Lee to win the North American Title. The win came with assistance from Mysterio’s Judgment Day stable and marks Mysterio’s first singles title in WWE. The loss also ends Lee’s record long reign at 270 days. Mysterio is now scheduled to defend the title against Mustafa Ali at the Great American Bash. It is not clear if Lee will be included in the match.

Opinion: That is the right way to go and I like the change quite a bit. Lee has long since gotten almost everything he can out of the title during a nine month reign. He is ready to move up a bit, while Mysterio can get all kinds of mileage out of holding the title. It was a shock moment that could have some very heavy benefits going forward and that is the best thing possible right now.
