He has a goal. Titles are often the most important thing in any wrestling promotion, including WWE. Champions are going to receive the most television time more often than not and it can be interesting to see who comes after them next. It makes for some very interesting moments and now another former champion wants to go after one of the company’s top prizes.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Well Done: WWE Reportedly Very Happy With Surprise Appearance At Backlash

This week on WWE TV, a tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will begin. The wrestlers in the field have already been announced, but another star wants to be included. During an interview with Catch Club, Baron Corbin said that he wanted to win the World Heavyweight Championship and then face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a champion vs. champion match. Corbin was drafted to Monday Night Raw last week but was not selected as one of the entrants in the tournament.

Corbin does have a history with Reigns. Check out his time on his own and with the Tribal Chief:

Opinion: While this is probably a long shot at best, I do like the idea of having a wrestler want to be the World Champion. In theory, that is what every wrestler should be shooting for but it is often not even discussed a good chunk of the time. I could go for more wrestlers wanting to be on top and hopefully that is the case again going forward, as it makes the most sense.

What do you think of Corbin’s statement? Who will win the tournament? Let us know in the comments below.
