Well, it’s better than being in mostly empty baseball stadiums. You remember Global Force Wrestling right? I mean, it’s not like they’re hard to remember. They’ve put on a handful of shows in the nearly three years since their founding now and I’m sure that TV deal is coming any day now.

In a rare moment of actually being able to get in the ring, the promotion put on a private show for the University of Tennessee and the University of Nebraska football teams before the 2016 Music City Bowl.

The show featured a Team Tennessee vs. Team Nebraska match with names such as Road Warrior Animal, Jeff Jarrett, Jim Cornette and Jimmy Havoc appearing. Clips of the show appeared on ESPN’s broadcast of the game. The wrestlers also appeared as special guests of the bowl before the game started.

I think we’re long past the point of thinking that Global Force Wrestling is going to mean anything major but it’s cool to see them do something for a change. It’s not like they’re hurting anything by sticking around and at least we can get some wrestling on ESPN for a change this way. The players seemed to be having fun and that’s really all you can ask for from GFW at this point. It has to be better than their TNA invasion at least.

Have you ever seen anything from GFW? Would you watch them if you could? Let us know in the comments below.
