In September 2022, WWE officially ended its NXT UK series, which was followed by an announcement that NXT Europe would be coming at the beginning of 2023. However, there has been no announcement of the brand being introduced. At the Money In The Bank press conference, Triple H said that the merger between WWE and UFC was holding up the introduction of NXT Europe. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is “code for it’s not happening soon”. There is no word on when NXT Europe will be introduced, or if it will still be introduced whatsoever. WWE released most of its NXT UK talent following its closure.
NXT UK had its moments. Check out what happened over the years:
Opinion: I don’t think this is anything close to a surprise, as we are over halfway done with the year and we haven’t had any kind of big announcement on NXT Europe. Maybe the merger is the reason, but I’m not sure what kind of an audience NXT Europe would have in the first place. NXT UK was hardly a top priority in the first place and I don’t know how much difference there would be if it expanded.
