Needs a break. The rise of AEW has been quite the change of pace for the wrestling world, as WWE is no longer the only national promotion with a major cable television deal. AEW has allowed several new wrestlers a chance to showcase themselves to the masses and become stars in their own right. Those stars have to be rotated out on occasion though, and now another seems ready to do so.

Over the weekend, AEW presented its annual Double Or Nothing event. During the show, Jade Cargill retained the TBS Title by defeating Taya Valkyrie, only to have her attorney Mark Sterling issue an open challenge. Kris Statlander returned from injury and won the title, ending Cargill’s undefeated streak. According to Fightful Select, Cargill will now be taking some time off from AEW. There is no word on how long she will be gone.

Opinion: This makes sense, as someone like Cargill losing their first match should warrant her going away for a bit. She can take some time off and come back refocused and ready to dominate again. Cargill has done very well in AEW but giving fans a breather from her for a bit is a good idea. Let her recharge a bit and come back with a new story and see where things go from there.
