That’s a different way to go. Tournaments are a concept that have been used for decades in wrestling and continue to be done to this day. They are an easy idea as you see wrestlers put into a bracket of some kind with the winner receiving a prize. WWE will be running two more in the coming weeks but this time WWE is going to be using a different method to set things up.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Remember Her? Interesting Detail On Missing Monday Night Raw Superstar

WWE has announced that King & Queen Of The Ring will take place on May 25. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Gunther, Xavier Woods and Drew McIntyre announced themselves for the field. According to Fightful Select, other wrestlers will be following suit and announcing their entrances in the field rather than having WWE announce them. This is expected to continue this week on SmackDown.

WWE has run some tournaments before. Check out some moments from over the years:

Opinion: I like the change of pace, as it’s nice to not have to wait for WWE to give us this big group announcement. It can be interesting to see a wrestler make their own announcement as it feels like they are individuals rather than part of a big group. That is the point of such a tournament and it will be nice to see the two of them put together in a different way.

What do you think of the idea? Who do you have winning the tournaments? Let us know in the comments below.
