There was a reason for that. There are very few wrestlers or athletes in the world who can compare to Brock Lesnar. He is one of the most dominant WWE stars of all time and almost no one today can hold a candle to him, even though Lesnar barely ever wrestles. That is not so much the case in mixed martial arts, and those two worlds may be crossing sooner rather than later.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Paul Heyman’s promo on Monday Night Raw about how no athlete in any sport could compare to Lesnar was designed to plant the seeds for Cain Velasquez’s eventual debut. Velasquez is a mixed martial artist who defeated Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. There is no word on when or if Velasquez will be brought in to WWE, or when he would be facing Lesnar.

These two have fought before. Check out a look at their UFC fight:

Opinion: That’s one of those matches that sounds interesting on paper but at some point Velasquez has to get in the ring and show what he can do outside of a six man tag in AAA. A match against Lesnar is a completely different story and I’m not sure how long it is going to take to set that up. If nothing else though, it could be interesting to see Lesnar shaken up and it certainly is a different story to tell with him.
