She’s not a fan. Women’s wrestling has come a long way over the decades but there have been some very dark periods. The times when the women were treated as nothing more than eye candy are thankfully mostly gone, but it took a lot of hard work and effort to get beyond them. WWE Hall Of Famer Alundra Blayze has tweeted out a message to Trish Stratus, claiming that Stratus brought women backwards from where Blayze took them. Blayze asked if fans thought she dropped the WWF Women’s Title in the trash with no long term plan before talking about their respective legacies. She went on to say that Stratus opened the door for the Bella Twins while Blayze laid a foundation for the Four Horsewomen.

Opinion: I’m not sure I get what Blayze is going for here, as Stratus was one of the women who helped get women’s wrestling away from what Blayze seems to be complaining about. Maybe this is some kind of an angle, but otherwise it feels like it is more than a bit misguided. Hopefully this isn’t what it appears to be on the surface, as I would think Blayze knows better.
