Those are some specific instructions. There’s no secret to the fact that WWE loved to micromanage their on-screen material. You’ll often hear the complaints about the overly scripted promos and wrestlers not being able to show off what they’re capable of doing. There is no indication that this is toning down, but after last night’s Monday Night Raw, we now have a slightly better idea of just how done in advance everything is.

A poster on Reddit has released photos of a copy of the script for last night’s B Team Memorial Day Barbecue. The scripts includes line by line statements for everyone involved to say, along with a series of bullet points of do’s/don’ts for the for the segment. While several of these are things that you can probably guess, there are a lot of things that are almost hard to believe. Here are some highlights and then the full scripts, courtesy of 411mania.com:

* DO NOT CHANGE TENSES

* CHECK THE LATEST DRAFTS for the LATEST CHANGES

* TIME THE PROMO (TALENT SHOULD NOT ADLIB)

* SPEAK CLEARLY so KD // VKM can HEAR YOU

* STAY AHEAD OF CUES (REPEAT YOURSELF IF NECESSARY): MIC PLACEMENT // MUSIC CUES // ORDER OF ENTRANCES, etc….

Here’s the segment in question. See how close this script got to what we saw last night.

The B-Team's Memorial Day Tag Team Barbecue: Raw, May 28, 2018

Opinion: This is one of the biggest problems with today’s product: with the writers scripting out every single thing that you see on TV, you’re hearing their voices and not the wrestlers’. While a lot of the wrestlers may not be the most experienced, they still have a little better idea of what to do over the writers, who know how to write and not wrestle. Let them have some freedom and if they fail, take it away from them. If nothing else it lets the writers focus on something else that needs and deserves more attention.

What do you think of the script? Should things be laid out to this degree? Let us know in the comments below.
