Goat face vs. GOAT. Chris Jericho and Daniel Bryan are two of the biggest stars in wrestling history and two of the most popular wrestlers around today. Both of them have been around for what felt like forever and the two of them would seem to be capable of having some incredible matches. As it turns out, they only have a few matches in history, and one of them is worth another look.
Then vs. later.
WWE has posted the full version of Daniel Bryan vs. Chris Jericho from the first ever episode of NXT on February 23, 2010. The match was Bryan’s first in WWE as he answered a challenge from Jericho, who was Wade Barrett’s Pro during the season. The match featured Bryan trying a suicide dive but being sent back first into the announcers’ table in a painful looking crash. This is one of only two televised matches the two ever had, with the other coming on Monday Night Raw on February 11, 2013.
Opinion: Now that’s the kind of match that would get a heck of a reaction now. As this one is though, it’s much more just something that was cool at the time and is more a historical moment than anything else. This match made it clear that Bryan was going to be something to see in the WWE as time went on, and that’s exactly what happened as things went forward.
