But what about the little ones? Earlier this month, news broke that WWE and FOX would be coming together with SmackDown airing on the new network starting in October 2019. The move coincided with NBC Universal signing a new deal to air Monday Night Raw for another five years. With the two big shows taken care of, one of the questions became what would happen to the smaller shows, like 205 Live and NXT. Well now it seems that we have an answer to those questions.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, neither 205 Live nor NXT will be leaving the WWE Network and moving to a television network. The only show that may come of the deal is a weekly studio show that would air on FOX Sports 1. NXT hasn’t aired on television since 2010 after airing about eight months on the SyFy network (albeit in the original competition format). 205 Live has never aired on over the air televisions

Like NXT now? This is the kind of thing that you got when it was on cable.

WWE NXT: NXT Rookie Challenge: The Obstacle Course

Opinion: The words sigh of relief come to mind. NXT has become one of the best treats wrestling fans could have but the idea of moving the show to a regular network would be a nightmare. NXT works so well because it’s a stand alone product that doesn’t have the main roster influence. I’m almost worried about what might happen to the regular shows on a bigger network and any such influence would destroy almost anything good that the show has going for it.
