Welcome back. There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella but the biggest and most famous of them all is the WWE Championship. The title has been around for about sixty years now and a who’s who of the wrestling world has held it over the years. It means a lot for someone to be WWE Champion and it can be a big deal when they return. That was the case again this week.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE television during this week’s edition of Main Event, defeating Jeff Hardy in a singles match. Mahal won the match thanks to some interference from Indus Sher, a tag team who has made some appearances on NXT over the years. There is no word on when Mahal could be returning to Monday Night Raw.

Mahal is a former WWE Champion, having won the title in 2017 and holding it for five months. He has spent most of the last two years on the injured list, missing June 2019 – April 2020 and May 2020 – January 2021, when he returned for the Superstar Spectacular for India TV in January. This win marked Mahal’s fifth match in just over two years, though his most recent featured he and Indus Sher on opposite teams.

Opinion: This is something that could help WWE out a bit as the company needs some fresh blood. Granted Mahal does not have the best reputation for his time in wrestling but at least he is someone who has not been around in a long time. Just having a former WWE Champion in there is a good thing and maybe he can add a little fresh blood for the sake of getting things a little bit peppier.

What do you expect from Mahal? What will he do next? Let us know in the comments below.
