Come on up. NXT is in a weird place as a wrestling promotion as it is a national television show with wrestlers getting to appear on the USA Network every Wednesday night, but it is also the WWE’s official developmental program. As a result, someone being successful means that they are likely on the way out of the promotion, which seems to be the case again with another name.

Every now and then, you see a wrestler start off one way and then change everything up, making them practically a different person. That can be a very good thing as the initial appearance can serve as a base with everything else coming from after the change over. NXT has a great case of that with someone who has changed so much that she is now a major star for them, but that might not be the case much longer.

According to PWInsider.com, former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is likely to be called up to either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown in the near future. Ripley lost to Raquel Gonzalez in a Last Woman Standing match during this week’s NXT, which will likely serve as her farewell to the show. Ripley has appeared on the main roster before, both at Survivor Series 2019 and WrestleMania 36.

Opinion: This was about the only option they had with Ripley at the moment as she comes off as such a major star compared to almost anyone else in NXT. Throw in her impressive size and resume and it is hard to validate keeping her in NXT much longer. The WWE women’s divisions could use a shot in the arm and Ripley has shown that she can hang with anyone, so give her the chance to already.
