There are other places to go. WWE and AEW receive a lot of the attention in the wrestling world but there are other companies out there. While there might not be as many top names in those companies, there is still all kinds of talent outside of WWE and AEW. Sometimes the smaller companies can pick off a few names here and there, which can make for an exciting moment, like what was done this week.
Impact Wrestling has been lost in the shuffle thanks to the rise of AEW. While it is true that they are a smaller company, Impact Wrestling still runs national television and can offer wrestlers a lot of exposure that they might not be able to get elsewhere. Every now and then they will pull in a few names that never got a chance elsewhere and that is what they have done again.
Former NXT wrestler Kimber Lee (known as Abbey Laith in NXT) debuted this week on Impact Wrestling in a backstage segment. Lee confronted Havok and promised to have something to do with her in the future. Lee is a former Chikara Grand Champion and has wrestled on the independent circuit since debuting in 2011. Her debut comes a week after independent wrestler Nevaeh appeared on Impact Wrestling.
Lee has been around. Check out some of the stops during her career:
Opinion: Works for me. Lee has been a very talented performer for a long time and sometimes it just doesn’t click in the major companies. Impact Wrestling is far from some tiny independent promotion and letting them pick up someone like Lee is a good thing for both sides. The Knockouts division has needed some fresh blood for a good while now and this is as solid of a signing as they could get.
What do you think of Lee? How big of a star can she be in Impact Wrestling? Let us know in the comments below.
