Really? Injuries are some of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler and you never know just how bad the situation can be. Last month, Trent Beretta defeated Chuck Taylor in a Parking Lot Fight on AEW Rampage. Following the match, Beretta hit Taylor in the ankle with a wrench, exacerbating a previous injury. AEW has since said that Taylor could never wrestle again as a result. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the belief is that Taylor’s career really is over due to the ankle injury. The ankle fracture that Taylor suffered resulted in necrosis of the bone fragments, which would prevent him from wrestling again. Taylor, 38, had been out of action since October.
Taylor has had quite the run in AEW. Check out his time in the promotion:
Opinion: That is horrible to hear as whether you like Taylor or not, it is always terrible to see someone’s career coming to an end because of an injury. Hopefully the diagnosis is wrong and Taylor gets to return to the ring, though things are not exactly looking good at this point. If nothing else, it would be nice to see him getting to wrap up his career on his own terms rather than being forced out.
What do you think of Taylor’s time in AEW? Was he better on his own or as part of a team? Let us know in the comments below.
